Experts: Extreme heat, wildfire smoke and converging climate events聽

As Montreal experiences the convergence of a heat wave, wildfire smoke from the Prairies, and recent extreme storms, 秀色直播 experts are available to discuss the science behind these converging climate-driven events.聽

Jill Baumgartner, Director of the 秀色直播 Centre for Climate Change and Health and Professor in the Department of鈥疎pidemiology, Biostatistics and Occupational Health, studies how environmental exposures affect human health. She can speak to the short- and long-term consequences of wildfire smoke and policy measures needed to protect communities.聽

Fr茅d茅ric Fabry, Associate Professor in the Department of Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences and Director of the 秀色直播 Radar Weather Observatory, studies the science behind extreme weather events and their interactions. He can comment on heat waves, air quality episodes and the limits of forecasting as such events converge. He can also speak about weather modification and climate intervention efforts, and their increasing relevance in public discourse.聽
