Edna Chosack

With a wealth of international experience in taking ideas to market鈥攁lways at the dynamic intersection of where entrepreneurship and experiential learning meet鈥擡dna Chosack, M.Sc., MBA, is the Healthcare Stream lead and Senior Coach at District 3, a leading innovation centre in Montreal. Edna is also a member of the Medical Device Research Centre Advisory Board of the National Research Council Canada.
As the co-founder and VP, Strategic Marketing at Simbionix Inc. (acquired by Surgical Science for $305M USD) , Ms. Chosack co-built the company into an international surgical-simulation leader, becoming internationally recognized as one of a few experts who leverage medical-simulation experiential learning into business success stories.
As Director at CAE Healthcare, she established and managed the surgical-simulation business line. She was a member of the advisory committee at 秀色直播鈥檚 Steinberg Centre for Simulation and Interactive Learning. She held her consultancy services for private internationals in China, Europe and North America.

Carmela De Luca, Ph.D., J.D. is a principal with Smart & Biggar LP. Carmela is a lawyer and registered patent agent in Canada and the United States and practices in all areas of intellectual property, focusing on patent matters, particularly for life science companies. She advises clients on strategic global aspects of obtaining and managing patent portfolios, as well as in the preparation and procurement of patents and industrial designs. She works closely with clients including start-ups, universities as well as multinationals in preparing and prosecuting patent applications relating to biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, biologics, diagnostics, green technologies, and other areas in the life sciences. Carmela is also active in the analysis of patent issues such as validity, infringement, and freedom to operate.
Carmela is the founding and Emeritus Co-chair of the Greater Montr茅al Chapter of Women in Bio (WIB) and a member of its Excellence in Canadian Board Governance (ECBG) committee. She has been a faculty member of the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada's (IPIC) Patent Drafting Course and is a member of the Advisory Board of the Clinical Innovation Platform (CLIP) of the Research Institute of the 秀色直播 Health Centre.

Ricardo Borja
As a Senior Industrial Designer and Innovation Strategy expert at CLEIO, Ricardo Borja brings strong expertise in innovation, human-centered design, and strategic product development. His goal is to find the right balance between promising ideas, a company鈥檚 business objectives, and market needs. Many of the products he has contributed to have achieved commercial success and received industry recognition. A graduate in Industrial Design from the Universit茅 de Montr茅al, Ricardo has developed strong expertise in innovation management alongside his design practice. At CLEIO, he plays a key role in driving strategy across medical, veterinary, and home healthcare projects. He contributes to the design of complex products while supporting companies in their research and development (R&D) processes and in defining growth strategies across the MedTech, healthcare, industrial, and consumer technology sectors.
