Through an interactive approach, you will explore different types of texts used in professional settings, such as letters, memos, or case reports. You will learn to recognize and use various forms of discourse: informative, narrative, prescriptive, argumentative, or even a combination of these.

Through practical exercises, discussions, and role-playing, you will learn to use specialized vocabulary as well as common sentence structures in professional environments.

The course focuses on simulations inspired by real-life situations in the fields of health and social work. Your listening skills will be reinforced through video clips, followed by discussions and role-play activities.

Do you feel more comfortable speaking French than writing it? This course will help you improve your ability to write clear and accurate texts by choosing the right grammatical forms and appropriate vocabulary.

Using various models studied in class, you will learn to write similar texts while following common sentence structures. This work will prepare you for written communication in professional settings, as well as for the French exam of the Office québécois de la langue française.

Prepare for the OQLF Exam

OQLF Exam Workshop

  • Cost: Free for eligible participants
  • Prerequisites: Advanced intermediate level (B2), QUM8
  • Group size: Limited to 8 participants

In Quebec, members of professional orders must demonstrate adequate proficiency in French to practice their profession. This typically involves passing the French proficiency exam administered by the Office québécois de la langue française (OQLF).

In partnership with Dialogue Ðãɫֱ²¥, the Centre for French Language Teaching (CEF) offers a free, two-part workshop to help you prepare for the OQLF exam.
