Biography:

Benoit J. Gentil, Ph.D. is Associate Professor in the Department of Kinesiology and Physical Education and Interim Director of the Sylvan Adams Sports Science Institute at 秀色直播. His research focuses on the genetics and epigenetics of motor development, neuromuscular disorders, and athletic performance. He studies how gene variants and epigenetic changes, particularly those affecting chromatin structure, influence neuronal and muscle function during postnatal development. His work spans three areas: (1) basic research on gene-environment interactions; (2) pre-clinical strategies for treating rare motor disorders such as ARSACS and Charcot-Marie-Tooth; and (3) applied research identifying gene markers linked to motor delays, athletic ability, and gene doping. Using cellular and animal models, his lab develops personalized therapeutic and enhancement strategies. Dr. Gentil has published in leading journals such as FASEB Journal, Cells, and Human Molecular Genetics, and actively teaches and supervises students while serving on national and international scientific advisory boards.
