Associate Director, Academic Liaison

The CDSI Associate Director, Academic Liaison, is responsible for helping to drive the mission and vision of the CDSI by supporting the coordination of refinements and/or expansions to CDSI-related academic programs that cross traditional units. The Associate Director, Academic Liaison, is a member of the executive team and is expected to work with the CDSI Director, McCAIS Co-Directors, and the CDSI administrative staff to champion integrative efforts with existing and potential academic programs.

General Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance to units with course offerings related to AI, Data Science, and Computation, in collaboration with related departments and programs within Ðãɫֱ²¥ and their relevant units’ leadership, such as the development and assessment of educational objectives in line with current job market trends;
  • Foster collaboration with and between existing academic units and their programs at all levels (Undergrad, Masters, PhD, and beyond), within existing processes; and
  • Work within and develop governance structures related to CDSI and academic units in relation to academic programs.

Qualifications

  • A PhD with international visibility for their efforts leading the coordination of education efforts within and across disciplines
  • A faculty appointment at Ðãɫֱ²¥
  • Demonstrated success developing and implementing vision as an academic program director or similar leadership role(s) is an additional asset
  • The ideal candidate would possess strong communication skills in both French and English

  • This is a minimum 0.1 FTE commitment
  • Term – 2 years, renewable

Associate Director, Research

The CDSI Associate Director, Research, is responsible for helping drive the mission and vision of the CDSI by coordinating its research efforts internally at Ðãɫֱ²¥, and externally with existing and potential partners. The Associate Director, Research, is a member of the executive team and is expected to work with the CDSI Director, McCAIS Co-Directors, and the CDSI administrative staff to champion large collaborative research efforts centered around topic-driven Research Areas and to maintain and develop seed funding and related strategic research funding programs.

General Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership in identifying, establishing, fostering, and maintaining potential CDSI Research Areas related to AI, Data Science, and Computation, in collaboration with related units within Ðãɫֱ²¥ and their relevant leadership;
  • Foster large-scale research collaborations between individual researchers, administrative and academic units, and external partners; and
  • Work within and develop governance structures related to CDSI, administrative units, and external partnerships in relation to research.

  • A PhD with international visibility for their research collaborations and funding record, not only within academia but also substantively beyond
  • A faculty appointment at Ðãɫֱ²¥
  • Demonstrated success developing and implementing vision in an administrative or similar leadership role(s) is an additional asset
  • The ideal candidate would possess strong communication skills in both French and English
