Born聽in Toronto to聽Jamaican聽parents and raised in聽Mississauga,Stephanie聽began her human rights聽career at Queen's聽in 1996 in the portfolios of Anti-racism Advisor and Education Coordinator. She holds an M.Ed degree and has researched effects of racism and processes of racialization as they affect black聽youth in smaller urban centres such as Kingston. Stephanie聽is past Coordinator of聽Black History Month Kingston!聽and is a聽longstanding member of the聽Black Inmates and Friends Assembly. She currently represents Queen's on the聽Kingston Immigration Partnership聽Operations Committee聽and is past Chair of the Board of Directors of聽Kingston Employment and Youth Services. She continues to be inspired by the stylish and savvy ways in which black youth everywhere challenge their聽invisibility and claim their right to belong.
