Simon F. Roy
M.D., FRCPC, M.H.Sc.
Dr. Simon F. Roy is a dermatopathologist and clinician-investigator, dual board-certified in Anatomical Pathology by the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada and in Dermatopathology by the American Board of Pathology. He completed his MDCM degree at 秀色直播, followed by anatomical pathology residency at the University of Montreal. He trained at Yale University for his dermatopathology fellowship, followed by a postdoctoral research fellowship in the Bosenberg laboratory and Master of Health Science degree at Yale, focusing on melanoma immunobiology and epigenetics of rare melanoma subtypes.
Dr. Roy performs clinical dermatopathology work at the MUHC-Glen site and leads his research laboratory at the Rosalind and Morris Goodman Cancer Institute.

Dr. Roy's laboratory integrates spatial multi-omics technologies with translational insights to understand how melanomas develop resistance to immunotherapy. His team has developed an ex vivo tumor slice culture platform that preserves the natural tumor microenvironment, creating "patient avatar" systems to test new drug combinations in ways more representative than traditional 2D assays. Through advanced bioinformatic approaches, Dr. Roy's research combines genome-wide DNA methylation analysis, spatial gene and protein expression mapping, to identify and validate biomarkers for precision oncology.
