聽\n\nAbout the Master Trainer (MT) Workshop\n\nThe 2024 MT Workshop is par
t of a national research initiative aiming to conduct research and to enha
nce community capacity in Canada for early intervention in various setting
s like clinics\, early childhood education\, and community centres. 聽\n\nI
nterested organizations are encouraged to nominate a minimum of 2 individu
als to take part in the MT Workshop\, where they can become certified Mast
er Trainers for the Caregivers Skills Training (CST) Program. This program
focuses on equipping caregivers of young children with socio-communicativ
e delays\, including autism\, with the skills necessary to support their c
hild's growth and development.\n\nParticipants in the MT Workshop will gai
n knowledge and skills to:\n\n\n Teach caregivers to use evidence-based聽str
ategies for promoting shared engagement\, social skills\, and positive beh
aviours in their children through play and daily home routines\n Integrate
the CST Program in routine services\n Train and supervise others to carry o
ut the intervention\n\n\n聽\n\nMT Workshop Expert Trainers\n\nExpert traine
rs offer support to CST MT Workshop participants and their local organizat
ions via training\, supervision\, and implementation guidance:\n\n\n Marla

\n\n Developed by the World Health Organization\, with support from Autism
Speaks\, and used in 30+ countries to help address widespread shortage of
evidence-based early intervention\n For caregivers of 2- to 9-year-old chil
dren with neurodevelopmental conditions\, including autism\n Aims to empowe
r parents and caregivers with knowledge\, skills\, and resources to聽help b
etter support their children and improve wellbeing聽\n The CST Program inclu
des nine group sessions and three individual coaching visits that cover to
pics such as communication\, daily living skills\, positive behaviour and

skill-based training聽\n \n \n \n \n Practice Sessions\n \n 4-5 interactive sessio
ns:聽\n\n April 23\, May 7 and 21\, and聽June 4 and 18\, 2024\,聽from 2 to 4 p
.m. EST聽(10 a.m. to 1 p.m. PST)聽\n \n \n \n Focuses on improving fidelity to t
he CST intervention model via weekly viewing and coding of intervention vi
deos\, and group discussions\n \n \n \n \n\n\nThe CST MT Workshop will take pl
ace in English\, but materials will be available in both English and Frenc
h.\n\n聽\n\nEligibility and applications\n\nSpaces are limited. Priority gi
ven to Canadian organizations who:\n\n\n Are interested in becoming a partn
er organization in upcoming Canadian research on CST\n Offer services to fa
milies and young children\, in particular those that have the capacity to
reach underserved groups in Canada\n Are interested in integrating the CST
Program as part of their routine services and sustaining the intervention
over time\, including training local facilitators\, at no cost to families
聽\n Have the necessary experience to deliver early intervention for neurode
velopmental conditions\, including autism聽\n Can attend all of the sessions
