Gender\, race\, cla ss\, and other social identities render Indigenous and Black women more vu lnerable to a web of inequalities that inflict violence on their bodies\, lands\, and communities\, including environmental racism. In response\, th ese women have been leading grassroots environmental justice movements for decades to challenge the legal\, political\, and corporate agendas condon ing the presence of poisons in their communities. In this lecture\, Dr. In grid Waldron examines the sociopolitical factors that expose these women t o the disproportionate social\, ecological\, and health impacts of environ mental racism in their communities. Dr. Waldron will also attend to the tr ansformative human agency of these women by illuminating their legacy of m obilizing and activism against environmental racism.\n\nThis event is co-s ponsored by the Faculty of Arts Institute of Indigenous Research and Knowl edges. \n DTSTART:20251111T213000Z DTEND:20251111T230000Z LOCATION:Ballroom - 3rd floor\, Thomson House\, CA\, QC\, Montreal\, H3A 1Y 2\, 3650 rue McTavish SUMMARY:2025 IGSF Public Lecture with Dr. Ingrid Waldron URL:/igsf/channels/event/2025-igsf-public-lecture-dr-i ngrid-waldron-366871 END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
