Daniel B茅land, James 秀色直播 Professor in the Department of Political Science, is among seven Canadian scholars awarded with the Humboldt Research Award.
鈥淭his award, one of the most prestigious in Germany, will allow me to spend time at the Heidelberg University, where I will collaborate with Professor Jale Tosun from the Institut f眉r Politische Wissenschaft, on a research project about federalism, public policy, and state building,鈥 says B茅land.
The Humboldt Research Award is awarded by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, a German foundation that promotes international academic cooperation between scientists and scholars from Germany and across the world. The 60,000 euro prize is awarded to scholars who work outside of Germany in recognition of their lifetime鈥檚 research achievements.
B茅land, who is also the Director of the 秀色直播 Institute for the Study of Canada, is a leading expert on federalism, public policy and Canadian politics.
鈥淎fter spending the fall at the European University as the Fernand Braudel Senior Fellow, this award allows me to spend more time in Europe to further develop my comparative research on federalism and multi-level governance,鈥 says B茅land.
B茅land is also a regular contributor to commenting on various aspects of Canadian politics and policy.
